The first in a series of events to promote Sri Lanka in Australia will be held from 30th October- 1st November 2009 at Waterfront Venues, Docklands, Melbourne. The purpose is to showcase the diversity and the cultural heritage of Sri Lanka, the trade and investment opportunities available and to promote Sri Lanka as a destination for tourism, trade, and investment.

The promotion is aimed at gaining maximum exposure for the Country by projecting an image of Sri Lanka that has not been seen before by showcasing Sri Lanka’s excellence in various fields. The promotion would attempt to demonstrate the best that Sri Lanka has to offer while retaining the traditional and exotic allure of the country.

Day 1 - 30th October 2009 - Friday

11.00– 11.45	Soft Opening of the Sri Lanka Trade & Tourism Display at The Waterfront Room, Waterfront Venues, Docklands by His Excellency Senaka Walgampaya, P.C., High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Australia.
14.00– 15.30	Emerging Investment Opportunities in Sri Lanka (Investment Seminar) at Function Room Moored, Waterfront Venues. Guest speakers from the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka will be present. 15.30 – 16.00	Minister of Environment for Western Province Udaya Gammanpila – opportunity in the capital city (Investment Seminar)
16.00 – 17.00	Q & A Session and Business Networking session
18.30 - 20.00	Grand Opening of Sri Lanka Week ’09 –Cocktail (by invitation only)
18.30	Sri Lankan Buffet Dinner at Kobe John’s Restaurant, Waterfront Venues, Docklands by celebrity Chef Dr Publis of Mt Lavinia Hotel (Traditional Sri Lankan menu for this event). Fashion show and Cultural performances during dinner.
18.30 - 20.30	Business Networking session for investors continues.
21.30 till late	Disco hosted by DJ Nash at BCM, Waterfront Venues, Docklands

Day 2 - 31st October 2009 - Saturday

10.00 – 20.00	Trade and Tourism Display at The Waterfront Room, Waterfront Venues, Docklands continues.
11.00 - 12.00	Q & A and Networking Session
14.00 – 15.30	Special Session for Diaspora on investing in Government financial instruments including Bonds and Bills, and information sharing on banking procedures at Function Room Moored, Waterfront Venues, Docklands.

17.30 – 18.00	Q & A Session & networking
